So what does a typical Residential involve?

Each holiday is headed by 'Leaders', a group of at least two people (one male, one female), one of whom will have had previous experience leading on a camp. Leaders are elected by the Charity committee as the leaders have overall responsibility for planning and organising the holiday.

On the holiday the group is split into minibus groups consisting of a driver, a day group leader and other volunteers. Each volunteer is assigned up to three children to keep an eye on during the holiday, this doesn't mean they are with them at all times, they simply know where they are and make sure they know what they're doing now/next. The day group leader has the organisational role on the bus but everyone plays an important role.

The day is packed full of fun activities as already mentioned. Though these can change due to weather or uncontrollable circumstances. Small gaps during the day are spent in playgrounds, and playing various games. In the evening after the children have been put to bed, there is a meeting in which all volunteers gets to discuss the day that they have had, express any concerns or share any experiences of the day. However each camp is unique to the people taking part in it. You never know what may happen or what fun you might have!!!
